What better time for a "candy" ...bar, than
Halloween!

Halloween-Candy Face How-To

Happy Fourth of July Sign

from Country Living Magazine
Expect a Fourth of July filled with old-fashioned fun when you create easy, inexpensive decorations with paper, basic craft supplies, and enchanting Victoriana printables. Inspired by turn-of-the-century celebrations, this joyful tribute to red, white, and blue harkens to a time when impromptu hats were folded from leftover newspapers, and marching bands, firecrackers, and lawn games marked the day. "It was a very big holiday," explains expert crafer Melissa Neufeld. "Postcards with patriotic greetings were mailed out in much the same way as we now send out seasonal holiday cards." These projects by Melissa can be made ahead of time to decorate for the holiday, or assembled with the help of family and young friends at the party itself.

Cute Ideas

... for Mother's Day

Heart-Shaped Sachets

Freshen up drawers with heart-shaped sachets. Cut two heart shapes out of your favorite fabric, place printed sides facing each other, and sew edges, leaving space to add filling. Then fill with potpourri, stitch up, and enjoy!

Mother's Day Menu

To print a menu on a napkin: Type the menu on your computer in a Word document as you would a printable invitation. Print out the menu using white iron-on transfer paper (easily found at any Staples or Office Max). Iron onto your selected napkin. The transfer will work best on 100 percent cotton fabric.

Eye Candy & Inspiration

One of my addictions while planning Kayley's Wedding was visiting the Blog:

I fell in LOVE with these Autumn collages!

Thanksgiving Clip-Art Place Cards

To help you create decorative place cards for the Thanksgiving table,
Martha Stewart has free clip art. Download and print the place cards
(cream or neutral-colored card stock will work best),
cut along the dotted line, inscribe your guest's name,
and score down the middle with a bone folder.
You can also make a flat card with a border by using double-sided tape to affix the place-card design to a piece of card stock 1/4 inch larger than the place card. You can punch a hole in it and use twine to tie it to a napkin, or simply tuck it into the napkin.

The Midas Touches
from Martha Stewart November 2007
No need to go to excess this holiday season.
Small glints and gleams make the greatest impression.
Use the most precious metal, real and faux, to highlight and amplify natural beauty and your celebrations are sure to be filled with golden moments.
