Sally wants to be.....

 a Witch for Halloween
Sally and Miss Fiona have become BFFs
I suppose that has influenced her somewhat. I will tell you this.
When her mind is made up….her mind is made up!
So a witch she shall be.
Weve been on the lookout for the perfect hat.
What do you think about this one?
It is rather small but don’t you just love the way the green trim
brings out the green in her eyes? She said, “possibly”.

To this one, her response was “no way Jose”.

I thought the fit was better. Sally said it was too heavy.

I guess she does look a bit weighted down …. so the search continues.

til next time

A Cat Tale

The title of this story is:
Meet Sally

The story began last November...

Once upon a time there was an adorable couple also known as my mom and dad. They befriended  a cute stray cat that frequently showed up at their back door.  She was very smart and in no time had  adopted them.
They named her "Cat" ...  I know , right.

"Cat" was a pretty white cat with splotches of black.  My parents already have 2 indoor cats so although they didn't let her inside the house they fed her and  made a sheltered sleeping area for her.
It was crystal clear, SHE had claimed them as "hers". ( its a cat thing)

Long story short, it turned out, Miss Cat was a Mama Cat.  My dad found 5 teeny weeny kittens on the side of their house.

Guess who ended up with new kittens???

Marci and Mike adopted a brother and sister team.  They are silver tabbies. Addie named her little boy "Tom" and Ella named her little girl "Beauty".

Kayley and Scott adopted a pretty white brother sister team ~ "Winston" and "Samantha".

 BUT
long pause ...
there was yet another kitten.  She was black with perfectly placed white markings.
Did you guess?
We adopted "Sally".  When she is naughty and must be reprimanded her name is Sally Jean.  We love the way she is painted.  She has a white goatee and bib.  White boots and gloves and my very favorite detail is a sassy Marilyn Monroe beauty mark! If we'd noticed it sooner perhaps her name would be Marilyn.

As you might know we already had adopted a brother team when Marci's adopted stray cat "Meow Meow"
(named by Ella who was a toddler at the time) had a litter of ALL white kittens.

When we brought little Sally home it was NOT
love at first sight.
Bill and Blanco were not happy campers in the beginning.
I was even fearful for little Sally Jean at first.

Such Brotherly Love

My Mom kept saying give them time.  Once again she was right.  They are one big happy family now.  They look so cute when all three are sleeping together especially with Sally in the middle.  They look like a yummy Oreo cookie in reverse.
Blanco is so patient
and
check out Sally's beauty mark!

My parents are thrilled with all of the adoption arrangements as now they can visit all the cute cats any time they want!

Oh!  ....  and they all lived happily ever after♥

~THE END~

Author's Note: THAT'S it people.  I don't care who ends up with a stray cat and kittens.  We're good.   REALLY!

Oh Where, Oh Where

.... is Nana's Wallet?

Today Marci and Addie stopped by while Ella was at pre-school. Marci and I were upstairs in my sewing/craft room. Addie was being Addie...CUTE, of course. She was talking to the cats, singing and entertaining herself as usual. She had been up and down the stairs several times and would peek her cute little blonde head in the room and say something funny every now and again.

When it was time to leave Addie was downstairs and Marci started calling to her, "time to go Addie Girl". As Marci and I walked down the stairs we saw my bag that I'd left on the dining room chair (unzipped and inviting) was on the floor and Addie had rearranged everything in my checkbook and card case. We put it all away, no harm done and I kissed them both good bye.

Not 10 minutes later Mark (my #1 thing I can't live without) needed something that I had in my wallet. I went back to my bag on the dining room chair and began digging through things and my wallet was not there. I thought surely it's in the bottom of this bag and took everything out.
Nope, no wallet. I called Marci to ask her if she'd seen it when we found the other things and she said "no, but it could be anywhere". Well I looked EVERYWHERE. You know that is one of my gifts, I'm a really good "finder" .... usually.

I started worrying (another thing I'm really good at). What if it wasn't in my bag when Addie discovered it unzipped on the chair. Yesterday, I went to the Temple. I remembered having my bag and specifically my wallet as we were driving home because we were thinking of stopping for lunch. Then I went to the bank. I didn't even get out of the car though. I went through the drive thru. What if I dropped it somehow????? Poor Nana, now I was moving past worrying and going to my next step "fretting".

I called Marci and she tried to think of some possibilities and assured me that she was sure Addie must have put it somewhere. She told me about some recent "hidings" Addie has done and put me at ease, that yes indeed, my wallet had to be somewhere in the house.

I decided to go about by business and tidy up a bit, of course, all the while looking in every possible place as I scurried about. No wallet....

I went to put something away in Hope's room. Her door was closed, as usual. When I opened her door the first thing I saw was, you guessed it, none other than MY WALLET on Hope's bed of all places. Who would have thunk it! What a relief! I'll have to be a little more on guard when Addie comes to visit. She's a sly little cute one. Hope's bed is pretty popular. When I can't find the cats, that's where they are. They love her room! Aren't they sweet guys!

Memory Lane with AnneMarie, Jewely & Commissioner Miner

I had Scott get our "harvest" boxes out of the attic so I can have all of the Halloween and Thanksgiving items on hand to fill orders for Pineapple Hill.

We were setting things out and separating our family decorations from the store ones and came across this adorable little box. AnneMarie gave it to us 23 years ago! I was 19 at the time and I believe she was about 2 (right AnneMarie). She was our "mostest favoritest" babysitter in the world! One Halloween she gave us this little gift she made filled with candy. We loved it and still do. We have been putting it out every year since!
Each side with her cute artwork:

Even Signed and Dated:
As we continued to unpack we found Jewely's neckerchief. Jewely was the best dog in the whole world and she loved her special scarves!
Here is Miss Jewely - so sweet XO

Here is Jewely visiting Hope's kindergarten class on Valentine's Day. She's about to give that little girl a yummy kiss! She had a neckerchief for every holiday and was always sure to wear them on special outings. She was a very classy dog. We miss you girl!

And last but not least......

We found the cutest ever pumpkins that Mack (aka Commissioner Miner) made when he was a tiny little guy. They touch my heart so every time I see them!

I have noted them ... just in case........

So fun for me, hopefully not too boring for ya'll! P.S. Happy Fall!

Visit HERE for a fun Halloween project!

Mark is So Popular

We have these two cats that we're just crazy about. They are brothers. Blanco was the first of the litter and Bill was the last. I'm really glad we adopted both of them because they truly are "Best Buds".

Here's the thing....they are so fun to play with and really affectionate to all of us, but they definitely have a "Favorite Person" in the family. It's Mark! I mean I don't blame them, he is my favorite person too. But really, when Mark's in town the cats are wherever he is. It's the cutest thing. This morning he is working out of the office and I went in to tell him something and it was so typical to see his little buddies right there with him. I think Mark kind of likes it too. He never complains about them sitting on his work, trying to catch the paper when it comes out of his printer and even typing verbiage when they walk across his keyboard!

We're ALL glad when Mark is in town

....... he's so popular !

Silly Bill

This was the funniest thing. I tried to capture it with pictures but you just really had to be there! Hope had wrapped one of Scott's birthday presents in her old shoe box.(she has tiny feet) The box was sitting on the stair landing. Bill stepped in it with all four legs and kept turning around in circles. I told him the box was too small for him to sit in but he persisted.

Even funnier, was later Blanco sat in it! Scott took those pictures and I don't have them yet. What silly guys!

Side Note: Marci and Mike adopted a stray white cat that Ella named Meow Meow. She was a cute cat and really sweet. Meow Meow had a litter of kittens ... all white. We let Scott and Hope each pick out a kitten. Hope picked Blanco the first one born and Scott picked Bill. He was the last one of the bunch and a little runt. I think that's why Scott liked him so much. Here are some pictures of them at about a month old:
