Tuesday Tip

Over at my other blog Pineapple Hill Designs,
I usually post a TIP on Tuesdays. The start of the new school year is just around the corner.  Usually along with those preparations I feel the need to get organized.
I thought I'd share my favorite tips on the subject over here:

New Year-Fresh Start

Don't you just love the beginning of the new year.
The simple thought of a New Beginning and a Fresh Start is so rejuvenating. It's a great time to get into a Spring Cleaning mode with habits, attitudes and of course the home and office. January is a great time to organize your pantry, closets and cabinets. Shelters are always in big need in the winter months. The public schools and pre-schools can usually use donations for art classes, etc.
I love using baskets and containers to keep things in order.
My daughter just got a label maker for Christmas and told me she doesn't know what she did before she had it.
Check out these free labels from Style Guide.
They're perfect for baking goods and come in three pretty colors!

Pretty in pink, this precious trio of flowerpots with matching tray is adorable for a little girl's nursery. A witty way to hold cotton balls, Q-tips and little knick knacks! Dressing your baby and locating clothes as you need them can be made easier. Start with an organizing system based on interchangeable modular units such as boxes, baskets, and sacks. Thank You Thursday-My Room

When we bought this house, I was excited there was a little corner room upstairs that I got to call my own!  It's my creative space and I love it. I've always sewn in our bedroom, dining room or basement and truly it worked just fine.  I sure could never go back now though. One of the best benefits is I can make a HUGE mess while engaged in my projects and just close the door.  Sshhhh....that will be OUR secret.
"My Room" was due for a little re-do and some organizing.

Seriously

It's been a long haul with our computer trials.

You know what they say,

If it weren't for a little creative outlet,

and some baby sugar,
This BABY oozes happiness!

...Nana would be a total mess.
I'm back on track AGAIN and I refuse to have another computer problem.  I mean it.

Sunday Dinner to Marvelous Monday

Yesterday Mike, Marci, Ella & Addie joined us for Sunday dinner. This is always a first choice when I ask for suggestions. I love it because it is soooo easy. They love it because it's pretty much ready when we walk in the door after church...
Menu: Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Green Beans, Tossed Green Salad and Rolls.

I've been making roast this way forever and I'm sure most of you do as well. I don't even have an actual recipe.

This is pretty much it:
Crock Pot Roast
Ingredients:
Roast
Cream of Mushroom Soup
Lipton Onion Soup

I usually use 3 cans of soup when I'm planning to feed a crowd. I mix the Cream of Mushroom soup and the Lipton Onion Soup Mix in the crock pot first and then add the roast. Just start it as early as possible and let it cook on low to medium (depending on your crockpot) all day.

Ella and Nana always sit at the end of the table together.

Miss Addie was very focused using her little fork.

Afterwards we went to a Stake Music Fireside where Hope's little Vocal Group sang
"I Stand All Amazed" in harmony. I was amazed!
It was a great weekend! I even got to talk to both Mack and Kayley for awhile.
Head on Over to Pineapple Hill's Marvelous Monday and check out the new giveaway!

Sunday Dinner

Sunday Dinner.....Finally
I know it's Tuesday, I'm a little behind again. Setting the table Saturday night.
We had the fam over for dinner to celebrate Mr. Mark's birthday.
He wanted to California Combo for dinner. It's a family favorite, fine by me....easy to make!

We had fun loading his Million Dollar Pie with lots of candles. He was a great sport about the whole thing.
Marci recoreded it:
Dad's Birthday Song He wore the shirt from Kayley & Scott (loves it guys...thanks!)
Frog and Addie ready for dessert.
Ella & Addie entertaining themselves while the big people visit.
What nice little girlies!
By the way, we're doing some new things over at the Pineapple Hill Blog.
