29 years ago we were so excited about the arrival of our first baby. Back then (in the olden days) sonograms were not given routinely. I had a wonderful pregnancy with no concerns or questions so I didn't get to have a sonogram. We had no idea if we were having a boy or a girl.
We painted the nursery in a sunny yellow color and put up a wallpaper border of trees representing the four seasons. It was such a warm cheerful baby's room. Although we didn't know if we were having a boy or girl, most everyone else seemed pretty sure.
Friends and strangers alike would say "Oh, you are having a boy!" Our Stake President had been predicting the gender of babies for years and had never been wrong. He said "it's a boy". Even the labor and delivery nurse told us she was pretty sure we were having a boy.
My parents were anxious with anticipation in the hospital waiting room. After a very long labor, finally our first little baby was delivered. Mark went out in the waiting room to tell family the news and announced, "It's a Girl!"
Mark is always kidding around so at first they didn't even believe him.

Marci is the oldest of five children. She's a great sister, daughter, wife and mother and (one of my dearest) FRIENDs!
I don't know what I'd do without her♥
